Lincoln and District Rifle and Pistol Club has been in existence since 1946. We are relatively small but friendly club promoting the safe use of lawfully held firearms for target sports .The club is affiliated to the National Rifle Association (NRA), the National Smallbore Rifle Association (NSRA) and the National Target Shotgun Association (NTSA). The club uses the Reepham Moor shooting range as its base and we operate on every Sunday from 10am. We are a club run by club members for club members and we are always happy to meet new prospective members.
Becoming a full member of our club (due to the affiliation to both the NRA and NSRA) will allow the member to have 'good reason' to apply to Police Firearms Licensing Departments for a Shotgun Certificate (SGC) and or a Firearm Certificate (FAC) for use within the club facilities, We promote the safe use of firearms and the range has been deemed as one of the safest in the country due to its design and continued safe practices.
If a person would wish to become a club member we invite them to attend an introduction day (normally the first Sunday of the month) when they will be shown the range in operation and most likely an array of club members using various types of firearms. They will then be given a link to our membership web portal where they can sign up as a probationary member. Once a probationary member they would then make an appointment with one of the club trainers and/or committee members to carry out an induction training session. This session will be using a club rifle (for which there is a minimal charge) and the member will be expected to pay for the ammunition they use (again this can be provided by the club). Once the prospective member has successfully completed this training they can then shoot unsupervised as a probationary member using club rifles (when they are available) and we ask that any such member attends an appropriate number of times over a period of up to 6 months to prove their commitment and competence. Having done so the committee will them consider them for full membership.
Anyone already a member of another shooting club or with their own and current FAC will be considered on their experience, accordingly.
We do have some limitations on which firearms can be used on which part of the facilities. We do have access to a 25m range for rimfire and handgun calibres, Some of which can be used on the 75m range along with centrefire rifles. We also have 3 clay shooting points and claytraps, and also an expanding Practical shooting range.
At this time all aspects of the range are operating normally with no restrictions. We are however abreast of the current Government guidelines regarding exposure to CV 19 and this site will be updated should our status be changed.
Have a question about our Club or becoming a member? Please contact a member of the committee using the above link.
